The four teams, T Birds, Hornets, Aces and Pirates came together for the start of another big season signing on 220 players over all the clubs.
Secretary Retha De Beer said the day was a success and they were very happy with the sign on figures.
“We definitely have a good number to start the season off but to make it a fair competition, we do need a few more players.” Ms De Beer said.
“Aces club still need men’s players and some junior players.”
With sign ons, raffles and the popular ‘come and try’ set up, the morning went by fast for all involved.
Ms De Beer said as the young ones enjoyed it and so did all the hockey club volunteers.
Martyr Transport & Training Services, a major sponsor, arrived in style in a cabover truck, and Beaurepaires Tyres Mount Isa, another major sponsor, attended the fun day.
“We thank them for their assistance and support of the Hockey Association,” Ms De Beer said.
