The school’s P&F association is running a raffle and there are terrific sporting prizes to be won.
Fete convenor Erica Shaw said that in the lead-up to the fete they had a major raffle worth $8000 in prizes.
“First prize is two gold tickets for Game 1 of State of Origin in Melbourne (June 6) which includes a voucher to purchase your own flights at your own convenience,” Mrs Shaw said.
The $5000 prize includes pre-game entertainment, meet the state of origin legends, and four nights accommodation in an apartment.”
The second prize worth $2500 is tickets to the North Queensland Cowboys versus Melbourne Storm in Townsville on May 25 and two nights accommodation for a family of two adults and two children.
The third prize is $500 cash.
Tickets are $10 each – also available in books of five – and are available from the school, MacRae News in Turanga and Whateva Sports in Miles St.
“We’d also like to thank Whateva Sports for lending us the jerseys for the photograph,” Ms Shaw said.
“The prize will be drawn on the night of the fete, you don’t have to be present on the night, of course it would be great if they were.”

Ms Shaw said funds raised in the raffle and the fete would go towards P&F activities for the school such as organising events in the school and travel assistance.
“They assist students travel from Mount Isa to represent the schools in sporting and cultural events, everything from music and theatre to football and netball,” she said.
“The P&F will use these funds towards assisting students and their families with those travel costs.”
As for the fete itself it will be everything people have come to know and love over the past couple of years.
“It’s a great family night out, for all ages little ones as well as teenagers and adults,” Ms Shaw said.
“We’ve got all your old favourites, jumping castle, live entertainment, international food and fun fete games.”
The Fete is on the evening of Friday, March 23 (the weekend before Easter) at the college grounds on Camooweal St.
