“This is an exciting opportunity for Council to partner with a local provider in Miss Julie’s Mobile Swim School, who has worked with Council to deliver the free lessons currentlyavailable at the Centre” Cr Peta MacRae said.
Julie Spreadborough of Miss Julie's Mobile Swim School said they were delighted to bring an array of aquatic programs to the Mount Isa Community.
Cr MacRae said the partnership has been agreed to through until May 2019 with an option for an extension to the agreement and the Council was working on other initiatives for Splashez Aquatic Centre.
“A new pool operator will be commencing on Monday and will be working with Council to provide other opportunities at Splashez Aquatic Centre,” she said.
A sign on day will be held at Splashez on Sunday at 9am.
Anyone attending the sign-on who wish to attend the pool for a swim on Sunday will need to please pay their gate entry fee at the kiosk.
