KAP falls in line for Labor
Katter’s Australia Party claims to fight for North Queensland, but when it gets to Brisbane it follows Labor’s script.
On the very first day of the 2018 Parliament, the Katter MPs lined up to vote for Labor’s Curtis Pitt as Speaker – despite his pathetic record as Treasurer.
Before he was dumped from Cabinet, Curtis Pitt cut road funding in North Queensland, opposed a power station, failed to back sugar marketing reforms, backed unfair vegetation management laws and failed to deliver an inquiry into our rising insurance costs.
Even in Cairns, he failed to fund the dredging of Trinity Inlet and failed to deliver the Aquis resort.
Katter MPs should be on this Labor Government’s case, but they go AWOL when it counts.
North Queenslanders need to be heard in Brisbane more than ever and I promise to keep fighting in their corner.
We’re facing big problems. Unemployment, rising power prices and crime are hurting too many people.
North Queensland needs MPs who will put pressure on Ministers to deliver the jobs, infrastructure and investment we need.
In this Parliament Deb Frecklington’s LNP will be standing up for North Queensland, not propping up failed Labor pollies.

Shadow Minister for North Queensland
Worse than before
When Malcolm Turnbull replaced that complete dud Abbott I breathed a sigh of relief. I hoped we might get a decent government.
Now every day I wake up with Turnbull as PM, I breathe a sigh of despair. The Point Piper Phony is even worse.
