Principal Alana Scott said the morning was to acknowledge students who had been successful in upholding and demonstrating knowledge and integrity.
“These students are role models for the school community and have achieved success not only in areas such as sports or the arts but in school life,” Ms Scott said.
Ms Scott acknowledged the P&C committee for successfully acquiring a $35 000 grant to build the new playground for the year 1 and 2s.
“The playground officially opens on Wednesday but the new leaders have already showed themselves to be exemplary in their new roles, so they can be first on it today for a photo,” she said.
The badges for the student leaders were presented by Ms Scott, Mr Wood and Mrs Graham.
The 2018 school leaders are Halle Donovan, Audrey Eussen, Chloe Lamont and Eugene Pouesi.
The house captains for Kennedy were Eiesha Simmons and Greg Sipata.
Leichhardt house captains were Roman Body and Preston Wallace.

The 2018 student councillors were Lahnika Nardoo, Arthur Roy, James O’Rourke, Aimee Lobegeiger, Eugene Simmons, Toby Cox, Josephine Pouesi, Paul Vatuvie, Kysah Clapman, Noah Cox, Kesa-Lee Savuro and Kathleen Coggan.
