THANK you to the North West Star for the continued opportunity to have a few words through the Isa’s Blue Line column during 2018. The opportunity to be able to address topics with accurate information, set straight the myths, and confirm the facts is always appreciated. Another excellent source to be able to be up to date with local policing activities is through the MyPolice blog.

Even more exciting than reading about policing happenings, would be to join the team! Mount Isa Police Station is currently taking applications for the position of Station Client Service Officer. This important administrative role provides service delivery to the public and provides broader administrative support within the Mount Isa Police Station by carrying out a diverse range of duties aimed at providing professional services to the public.
This position involves working on the front counter of the Mount Isa Police Station and does not involve shift work. As the first point of contact to the public, we are looking for a friendly and confident applicant, who is keen to assist others. Police stations are a dynamic work environment where significant variations in the both the type and volume of work occur. If you know someone who would be a great asset and is keen to join our team, or you would like to apply, review the application process on the official website www.smartjobs.qld.gov.au Ad reference QLD/268535/18. Applications close March 1.
A quick reminder also to the new traffic lights at the intersection of Duchess and Thompson Rds – whilst we are almost into March already, we are still only relatively new into the school year. This crossing is largely used by our youngest road users from nearby schools. Some of whom are only a few weeks into their schooling experience. Drive to the conditions and traffic signals, as opposed to years of habit to turn automatically.
Road safety is everyone’s responsibility.
