Health Educator Cheryl Hawkins said the event is to help raise awareness that you are never alone.
“We want to get the conversation started and extend an invitation for women to interact with health services,” Ms Hawkins said.
The conversation about social isolation, mental health and options to assist in well-being will be discussed with keynote speaker Tania Nugent - TV presenter, producer and women's advocate.
“There will be discussions relating to all stages of a woman’s life including post-natal care and how to access health providers along with enjoying some healthy food.”
The Women's Health Queensland Wide is an organisation which promotes health and education for women and health professionals throughout Queensland.
“We provide evidence-based health information and make it accessible to women so they have the confidence to make informed decisions about their health,” Ms Hawkins said.
The event coincides with International Women’s Day with the theme for this year being to press forward.
The hashtag #PressforProgress is a call to accelerate gender parity by motivating and uniting friends and whole communities to think, act and be gender inclusive.
The event will be held at QCWA Copper City Mount Isa Hall, 5 Isa Street on Thursday, March 8 at 10.30am. RSVP : candicek@womhealth.org.au
