According to the BoM’s 5pm Sunday update, the system is currently centred about 40 kilometres east of the Monument, near Dajarra.
The BoM said the system is now shifting towards the north – but east of Mount Isa – with a similar track expected overnight and into Monday.

“Areas of heavy rainfall, which may lead to flash flooding, are expected to accompany the low as it shifts north over the northwestern interior during the next 24 hours to 30 hours,” the BoM said.
“The areas of heavy rain will be confined to the eastern half of the low.”
Currently the heaviest rainfall is occurring across areas between McKinlay to Winton and down towards Middleton.
Heavy rainfall is expected to increase once again between Selwyn to Cloncurry and areas west of Richmond overnight and into Monday.
The bureau says six-hour rainfall totals in excess of 90mm are possible.
Scattered 24-hour rainfall totals between 75mm to 150mm are likely, with isolated falls up to 300mm possible.
Locations which may be affected include Cloncurry, Julia Creek, Selwyn, McKinlay and Middleton.
Carsland weather monitoring station recorded 298mm in one day, while Black Gorge received 159mm and Gereta Station had 153mms.
