This year’s theme of Netherland proved magical at the ninth Mount Isa Ronald McDonald House NQ Charity Ball 2018.
The gala event has been marked as the biggest ever raising a monumental $95,000 from the evening.
All funds raised go directly to the Ronald McDonald House NQ (RMHNQ) located in Townsville, providing a home away from home for seriously ill children and their families.
The House has helped many Mount Isa families in their time of need, when accomodation, food and other home necessities are the last thing on their minds.
Media Officer Jess Kitchin said on Wednesday March 7, the committee hosted a thank you evening at Arvo’s Tapas Bar with the sponsors, volunteers and all those that helped make the night a success.
“We would like to thank all our sponsors and our amazing community. The support has been absolutely amazing and has truly made all the difference in the world to Mount Isa families who are going through difficult times,” Ms Kitchin said.
“Hats off to you, Mount Isa for helping when families need it most.”
The hefty cheque was handed to CEO of RMHNQ, Amy Cooper.
Ms Cooper was overwhelmed by the amount and shared many thanks to the sponsors, donors, committee and the Mount Isa Community for continually supporting such a great cause.
“The Mount Isa Ball is always one of my favourites ,” Ms Cooper said.
“The community spirit and support I see each year continues to overwhelm me. I cannot believe the outcome from this years event, you have no idea the impact this will make.”
Next year will be the 10th anniversary of the ball and hype has already started to build.
The committee have started planning for the most memorable evening yet.
