BUFFS 303S 13 (Shaye Graham 4) DEFEATED BUFFALO BILLS 11 (Lux Thodsen 3)
The Bills started with good wins to James Ghee, Ziggy Grubczynski and Lux Thodsen. Like last week, Shaye Graham kept her side in contention, closing out the first six frames to level at 3-all. Graham and Thodsen remained undefeated and as 303s captain Jason Graham also closed out frames, the score was 11-all. Shaye Graham’s fourth win, and Hayden Grohs got the 303s to second on the ladder.
IRISH CLUB SMOKIN’ ACES 20 (John Tuimauga 4, Seb Lehtonen 4, Chris Williams 3, Tim Graham 3) DEFEATED BUFFS TOTAL DIVAS 4
The Smokin’ Aces cemented top spot on the ladder in a comprehensive win over the Buffs Total Divas. John Tuimauga and junior Seb Lehtonen continues their dominance, with help in Tim Graham and Chris Williams, who emerged with perfect records. Stevie Dyer offered the most resistance with two frames.
MIBC HUSTLERS 16 (Steve Healy 3; Eggy Eggmolesse 3) DEFEATED BARKLY BOOZERS 8
The MIBC Hustlers confronted their demons at the Barkly Hotel, having not won since leaving the venue in 2016, and in their match against the Boozers, it looked like they would still be cursed with a 4-nil deficit. Early, Grant Booker and Wacko Walford took their advantage but it would be pegged back pretty quickly. The Hustlers levelled with Steve Healy leading from the front, rattling off nine of the next 12 frames. The Hustlers are quietly keeping pace with the leaders, jumping to fourth on the ladder, relegating the Boozers to a tie for seventh.
IRISH CLUB OUTLAWS 12 (Frank Shuker 3; Allan Robinson 3) DREW WITH BUFFS JMI 12
The Buffs JMI travelled to the Irish Club to take on the Outlaws. Neither side had recorded a win and so it continued after a 12-all draw. The JMI raced to an 8-4 lead behind Anthony Behan and Noodle String, but the wheels fell off and the Outlaws reversed the scoreline with Frank Shuker and Allan Robinson as the standouts.
OVERLANDER NEW STARS 11 DEFEATED BOWLING ALLEY CPR 9
Two understrength sides squared off at the Overlander, as the homeside New Stars chalked up their first win of the season against the Bowling Alley CPR. The CPR showed moments of brilliance with Don Cameron their best player, but two weeks of good wins saw the New Stars close to topping the Boozers last round and put themselves ahead of the CPR, and will go to the Island Bowls Club with confidence against the Hustlers.
