The women’s golf season commenced with a nine hole two-ball Ambrose dubbed the Bax Plumbing Bring-a-Friend competition.
It proved a good time to play for the first timers, with recent rains making for lush green fairways.
The first team to make their way into the winner’s circle for this season was Kirra White and her guest Rose Munokoa with a great score of 34.7 after Callaway Scoring System was applied.
Taking out second place honours were Auretta Perrin and Nadja Tauber with 37 points.
Ball rundown was awarded to the team of Liz Jakeman and Bronwyn Munokoa for their score of 41.4 points.
Nearest the pins went to Prue Dunstan and Ulla Allen on the second hole and Auretta Perrin and Nadja Tauber on hole 5.
