The office of inquiry co-chair Senator Barry O’Sullivan said it was working with state member for Traeger Robbie Katter to organise a hearing in Mount Isa on Thursday night, April 12.
The location and exact time of the hearing have yet to be announced as have the format but it is likely to be more similar to the informal meeting in Barcaldine rather than the formal hearings held in Longreach and Cloncurry.
Mr Katter said he thought this format was as good as the formal hearings.
“It’s just as valuable and it allows people to get their voices heard and their messages across,” Mr Katter said.

The inquiry hearing in Cloncurry is also scheduled for Thursday April 12 at 9am and the inquiry secretariat have confirmed that speaking at this event is by invitation only and people cannot register to speak.
The secretariat told the North West Star that it was possible to apply to speak at the Winton hearing on April 12 but there was no guarantee the request would be granted at late notice.
As for Cloncurry, the session is open to the public though the public is not allowed to speak at the event.
The inquiry has published the agenda for the Longreach hearing on April 10 but at the time of writing (Friday) it has not yet published the list of speakers at the Cloncurry hearing.
Known speakers at the Cloncurry hearing are hosts Cloncurry Shire Council, Mount Isa City Council and cheaper fare advocate Hamish Griffin from Cloncurry and there will likely be others.
On the bill to speak at Longreach are the local shire council followed by Queensland Airports Limited who own Mount Isa and Longreach airports while among others, the Outback Queensland Tourism Association are scheduled to speak at the afternoon session.
The public meeting regarding the airfares inquiry in Mount Isa will be held on Thursday April, 12 at the Good Shepherd Catholic College, Lumen Christi Centre from 4pm-5.30pm.
