The Role
Mount Isa Mines are currently advertising a vacancy that exists within the Mines Power Station for an Auxiliary Plant Attendant. Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, this challenging role will require you to work on a variety of tasks, with an opportunity to develop your technical skills and industry knowledge.

This position is residentially based in Mount Isa and will require you to work a 42-hour week, continuous shift roster. Occasionally you may be required to be flexible in terms of work times and rosters. 

You will be responsible for:

• Operating and maintaining power generation, oxygen plant and high pressure & low pressure compressed air assets.
• Working collaboratively with tradespeople and engineers in a multidisciplinary environment.
• Ensuring set targets are met and the operation runs efficiently.

The successful candidate will have:

• A trade qualification – Mechanical or Electrical trade qualifications will be highly regarded
• Experience in boiler and turbine generation is desirable
• A demonstrated commitment to safety
• A self-motivated positive attitude and enjoy working in small yet highly productive teams
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Must be able to work in both Lead Smelter and Copper Smelter Areas
