STRIDING FOR GOLD: Olympic swimmer Lara Davenport shows B'Llana Luck and Griffin Marshall from Healy State School the gold medal she won at the 2008 Beijing Games as part of the Australian 4 x 200 metre women's freestyle relay team. Davenport is in Mount Isa with Matildas World Cup player Lauren Colthorpe as part of the Stride Foundation's Sport for Life program. Both athletes spoke to students at Central, Townview and Healy State Schools about engaging in sport and recreation as well as setting goals, both in and outside of the sporting arena.
