BELT buckles are as much a part of a rodeo as the bucking bulls.

The shiny new buckles and sashes for winners of each event have arrived in preparation for this year's Mount Isa Rotary Rodeo.

They feature details, which fit in perfectly with this years theme 'diamonds and dust', include a large circular silver plate with plenty of gold and silver detail with event details for winners.

And with less than three weeks until the rodeo takes over the city, it's all about getting your nominations in on time to be in the rodeo to win the cash prize, the shiny belt buckle and the sash.

Isa Rodeo manager Tricia Esdaile said the Isa Rodeo had a prize pool worth thousands of dollars, part of which included the buckles are bestowed on each winner.

"The basic buckle is sourced in the USA, but long time Isa Rodeo chute manager and engraver Eddie Fisher turns them into a sought after prize," she said.

This year's Mount Isa Rotary Rodeo will take place on August 10 to 12.
