The building was the last intact example of how houses looked in Mount Isa in the 1930s, and was moved to it's final resting place next to the Mount Isa Underground Hospital and Museum in March.
Falling into disrepair, the Tent House has been closed to tourists after it was closed by the National Trust in 2011.
Underground Hospital and Museum committee president Greg Humphrey has been working tirelessly to get the building restored but needed some willing volunteers to lend a helping hand.
"It's been a long, hard slog, but the sooner we can get it open, the better it will be, and the tourists can get back in there," Mr Humphrey said.
"I'm just after a few people that are good with their hands to do things like repair window frames, painting, cleaning walls, high pressure cleaning - little fiddly things like that."
Mr Humphrey said once the building was in good condition, he would like volunteers to help move the furniture and memorabilia back in for display.
He encouraged people to volunteer at the Underground Hospital, in the hope of extending the opening hours.
