Mrs Nooteboom's daughter Rachel Nooteboom said their family arrived in Cloncurry in January 1985 where her father, Johan, took up a position as surveyor with the Main Roads Department.
"Mum babysat heaps and heaps of kids around town while their parents were working; this was before the days of childcare, so a lot of people in town knew her," Rachel said.
Mrs Nooteboom worked at Cloncurry State School on the parents counter from 1990 until the beginning of this year when she was forced to leave because of her illness.
Rachel said her mum's funeral and cremation would be held in Brisbane next week, and a memorial service would be held in Cloncurry in the last week of August.
Details would be outlined in a funeral notice in The North West Star as they were finalised.
Mrs Nooteboom is survived by her husband, Johan and two daughters, Rachel, Vanessa Bradley, and her two grandchildren.
