MOUNT Isa’s young hockey stars enjoyed their last hit-outs before the Easter break on Saturday.
Players stepped out for round two fixtures of the Mount Isa Hockey Association at the hockey fields with all clashes played out in high spirits and enthusiasm.
Organisers were impressed with the high quality of play, including a number of passages of team work which led to spectacular goals.
In the under 8s, Hornets defeated T-Birds 2-1 with the winning team’s goals coming from Miah Starr and Riley Simpson. Hornets player Isabella Lambert showed amazing improvement and formed a great defence for her team throughout the match.
