As previously reported, it appeared the man jumped into the flooded Leichhardt River at the Twenty Third Avenue crossing at Happy Valley and witnesses saw him swept away.
A search of the river was conducted on Friday night and again on Saturday.
Mount Isa constable Glenn Angel said the man was found safe and well at his home address at 8.55am this morning.
Const Angel said a witness had come forward and let them know they believed they knew the man matching the police description.
“No reason was given for his actions,” Const Angel said.
“Please remember, if it’s flooded, forget it. You put not only your life at risk but the risk of others searching for you as well.”
