The Dean Studio Irish Dancers have been training since January for the competition, where they will compete in the solo and team sections in beginners, primary, intermediate, and open.
“The competitors are all from Mackay, Townsville, Burdekin and Cairns,” Ms Hogan said.
“They’ve been preparing since January, and they’ve had the Eisteddfod as a bit of a lead up practice to this,” she said.
Young dancer Kate Dean said her and her fellow dancers were ready to wow the judges after being taught by teacher Erin Dean.
“Miss Erin is really nice and she teaches us new stuff,” Kate said.
She also said she was excited to perform at the Queensland Irish Dancing Championships.
“We’re going to a very very big concert where there’s thousands and thousands of people,” Kate said.
