Cloncurry Shire Council appoints new chief executive officer Ben Milligan

CLONCURRY Shire Council has appointed Ben Milligan to be its new chief executive. 

Mr Milligan was a George Fisher maintenance manager. 

He also often competed in Copper City Cycling Club events.

Cloncurry Mayor Greg Campbell said the decision to appoint Mr Milligan was made in a special council meeting on Tuesday, August 9.

“Ben brings to council a wealth of experience and knowledge in local government and the mining sector,” Councillor Campbell said. 

“I believe Ben will be an asset to Cloncurry and with his qualifications will help to deliver essential services to the community.” 

He begins his role in early October and will relocate from Mount Isa to Cloncurry in September.

The former chief executive David Neeves resigned in July. 

Mr Milligan’s qualifications include a Bachelor of Civil Engineering, Masters of Business Administration, and a Post Graduate Certificate in Management.
