CLONCURRY Shire Council should consider a kayak service at Chinaman Creek Dam, a community meeting attendee suggested.

The attendee said the council could hire a recreational officer to be responsible for the service.
Mayor Greg Campbell said there was no legislation to stop people bringing their private kayaks to the dam.
He said it could perhaps be something the council could discuss with the PCYC. It could encourage further activity but costs of such an initiative were yet unknown to the mayor.
