In the first award, the ATODS team of the North West Hospital and Health Service received recognition from the Queensland Police Service for being a valued partner in supporting the community through Police Referrals.
ATODS also received an award at the 2016 Mount Isa Community Services Awards for Excellence in Alcohol and Other Drugs Service Delivery.
The Director of Mental Health and ATODS at NWHHS, Sandra Kennedy said it was high community recognition for all the hard work the team does in the community.
“I am very proud of our services, and this award shows how well our ATODS team engages with the community and their clients,” Ms Kennedy said.
ATODS provides drug and alcohol assessment, treatment, referral, information, individual and telephone counselling.
The service also assists with support, education, training, consultation and liaison.
