Around 3.30pm the Bureau of Meteorology issued a severe thunderstorm warning for damaging winds in the north west including Mount Isa, Cloncurry, Julia Creek, Camooweal and McKinlay.
By then people had reported rare falls of hail in the North West and at least one tree came down.
The Bureau has not yet updated its official rainfall total for Mount Isa though it is believed falls of 30mms were recorded.
Today’s forecast is for partly cloudy weather.
There is a high (70%) chance of showers in the northeast, medium (40%) chance elsewhere with aThe chance of a thunderstorm.
