It was hard going finding a park in Pioneer on Friday for the ever popular Mother’s Day fete at St Kieran’s Catholic School. Mount Isa turned out in droves for family favourites and sweet treats.

Favourites included Side Show Alley, the Cent Sale, Scary House, raffles, cake stalls, live entertainment and so much more.
Children ran riot with painted faces, shaved ice and candy floss on sticks.
Irish dancers performed for the crowds, and Good Shepherd Catholic College gave a taster from their upcoming musical production ‘Smithy’.
Highlights for us were the waving inflatable arm-flailing tube men gracing the field, and the happy families carrying bags of hard-won loot.
