Cloncurry Mayor Greg Campbell said the countdown was on, with only one month until the steam train arrives in Cloncurry.
“The steam train will roll into the Cloncurry Station on Thursday June 15at around 3pm and will be greeted by a welcoming party of Cloncurry residents in time for the Show,” Cr Campbell said.
“Don’t miss out on the opportunity that only comes once in 150 years and get your nomination in for the tickets.” Day trips out of Cloncurry will be held on Friday June 16 and Sunday June 18 with two trips a day.
Terms and conditions are available on the nomination form with a limit of four tickets per nomination.
Tickets will be $5 each with proceeds to be donated to a local community organisation.
The steam train will commence its journey from Townsville on June 12 stopping in towns across the Overlander’s Way before arriving in Cloncurry.
Nomination forms can be found on the Cloncurry Council website www.cloncurry.qld.gov.au/c150 or by visiting the Council office 38-46 Daintree Street, Cloncurry.
Nominations are due 5pm Friday June 2 and will be drawn on Monday June 5.
The welcoming event will commence at the Cloncurry Railway Station, Hutchinson Parade from 2.30pm.
There will be a barbecue, music and more.
