Six horses will gallop 1200 metres to win the open handicap – the last race scheduled for the day.
Jockey Dan Ballard rides the horse with the highest handicap in that race. Five O’Clock of the Jim Jackson stable has a handicap of 83. Ballard rides against his parents. Keith Ballard rides Travel In Style, trained by his wife Denise. Travel In Style has a handicap of 76.
The barriers will be busiest with the 0-50 Handicap, and the 0-60 Handicap. There are nine horses competing in each of these races.
Julia Creek trainer Tanya Parry increases the competitiveness of the 0-50 with four horses including Cobungra Boy and Zatochio.
The nine horses in the 0-60 includes Denise Ballard’s Bush Lawyer, Shryn Gabiel-Royes’ Noogoora Burr, and Tanya Parry’s Laredo Hussler.
