And it didn’t matter what time you drove past the store on the Barkly Highway north of town, the First and Last was open 24 hours.
But not any more.
The convenience store closed down without warning on the weekend.
The store is now locked with a sign saying “sorry we are closed” but no explanation of the closure.
The North West Star rang the store phone number to seek further information but was directly to voicemail.
The nearby Inland Oasis Motel closed down last year.
