The athletes, parents and officials all donned the costume or T-shirt of their favourite Superhero in what turned out to be a fun day with some super performances.
One athlete, six-year-old Kiani Howard, put in a superhuman performance to take out the season’s last perfect five from five PB medallion. At least we think it was Kiani or maybe it actually was Batgirl.
Another super performance was put in by five-year-old Ethan English who blitzed the 80m in a time of 16.2s to take out the Club record. This could well be a good sign for him and the Isa team that will be competing at the North Queensland Championships in Townsville in two weeks time.
A couple of true blue superhero’s in Acting Senior Constable Aimee Sewell and Constable Daniel Bartley also dropped in during the day to make sure none of the super villains were running amuck. Constable Bartley couldn’t be convinced to hit the track for a run realising he might be up against the likes of the Flash or Superman.
A superhero effort was put in by four-year-old William Venz to earn him the final Mighty Minion award for the season.
Proving a steady improvement of the athletes throughout the season another 8 athletes Miley-Jo Schafer, Cooper Hanson, Scarlett Venz, Archer Curtis, Macklin Kretschmann, Milla Van Lelyveld, Kadea O’Donnell and Corey Stewart surpassed the Legend Certificate qualifying standards and will receive their certificates at the Club Break-up on October 29.
Meanwhile this weekend will see the Isa Club host their second Retro Day of the year on Saturday and then they will be straight back to the track on Sunday for the Isa Throws Pentathlon.
