Held in Cairns on September 23 and 24, the challenge sees teams travel from across Queensland to compete.
Mr Egan played with the U/14 Wanderers Rugby League Football Club team and it was one of the first years the club has attended.
Mount Isa Rugby League president Pete Simpson said Mr Egan’s win was a big buzz.
“Jake normally plays for Black Stars, we were running short on numbers, and he came and filled in a spot for us,” he said.
“It’s good for the region and gets our boys in the north west noticed.”
The Wanderers placed 12th out of 17 teams and played five games.
Mr Simpson said it was the first football trip away for many of the boys and praised the positive attitude of the team.
“Given our location and the pool of talent we have out here, we decided to take a side,” he said.
“Nothing but a success to finish the football season on.”
