Toni Glanville from the Lead Alliance said it was a competition they came up with four years ago to encourage residents to improve their soil areas. “We had 45 people sign up to the program and 30 people completed it,” she said.
“Winners are judged on their before and after photos.”
The idea is to create a lead safe and water wise garden. Entrants are provided a kit of handy hints, seeds, and garden gloves.
Winners were: 1st prize Glandy Angon: (family trip to Adels Grove)
2nd Prize Linda Stewart: (Swing Set & Whipper Snipper)
3rd Prize Renee Johnstone: (lawnmower)
4th Prize Kay Symington: (raised garden bed)
