Senior Dentist at the North West Hospital and Health Service (NWHHS), Dr Rachael Seadon, says people may be unaware of the benefits available under the scheme.
“If children are aged two to 17 and are eligible for Medicare, and if the parents or the child are getting Family Tax Benefit Part A or certain other government payments, they may be eligible.
“They will have access to $1000 worth of free dental treatment every two years,” Dr Seadon said.
“It is certainly worth parents and caregivers enquiring to see if their child is eligible. If parents aren’t sure whether their children are eligible for free dental treatment under the Medicare CDBS scheme our dental staff can check this for them. Just pop into the dental clinic at Mount Isa Hospital or give us a ring.”
