Local Mount Isa residents are encouraged to head to Mount Isa Bunnings between 9am and 4pm to buy a snag (or two) or make a donation, with all funds raised going directly to support Mount Isa SES Unit.
Queensland Fire & Emergency Services’, Mike Wassing, said he was always excited for this time of year to roll around as it’s great to see the community come together to help support the emergency services.
“Our volunteers are dedicated to supporting the Queensland community before, during and after disasters and emergencies,” Mr Wassing said.
“It's fantastic to see local residents getting involved in fundraising that supports and builds resources for our emergency volunteer services.”
Mount Isa Bunnings, Complex Manager, Barrie May, said this was a terrific way for team members and all Australians to show their appreciation for these everyday heroes and the important work they carry out on a day-to-day basis.
“The team is looking forward to manning the BBQ and doing their bit to help raise funds and awareness at such a critical time of year for the Mount Isa SES Unit,” Mr May said.
