Children between the ages of four to 17 who completed their health checks were provided with a Deadly Choices back to school pack, which included: drink bottle, hat, backpack and essential stationary items to support students returning to school.
Gidgee Healing regional manager, Daniella Solakovic, said “supporting young people to return to school is a financially challenging time for most families.
“If we are able to support our community by providing some assistance then we will do so.”
The day was supported by businesses, health professionals and organisations who held activities and free stalls throughout the day.
Former Cowboys NRL player, Matty Bowen, also made a guest appearance to interact and encourage indigenous youth to get their annual health check.
