Splashez Aquatic Centre has been closed since an incident on Tuesday January 16 compromised water quality.
The North West Star understands the 50m pool suffered a “code brown” incident, which affected the entire body of water.
A Council spokesperson told The North West Star that tests show the water quality is restored, however the pool cannot reopen until Queensland Health verifies the test results.
“We are hoping Splashez will be operating as normal for the Australia Day long weekend, provided Queensland Health give the all clear,” the spokesperson said.
Acting CEO Sharon Ibardolaza told the ABC that tests completed the day after the incident came back with a zero reading for E. Coli and other parameters.
"As soon as the pool manager was notified, everyone within a proximity of what happened were immediately removed from the pool and provided antibacterial wash," she said.
