Situated on Camooweal St near Rodeo Dr, Arvo's Tapas Bar is the inspiration of long term local Deborah Howie.
Deb, as she known to most locals, has always dreamed of creating a place where friends can come together, and unwind.
Deb and her son Brad have now joined forces, and put Arvo's Tapas Bar into reality.
Brad and brother Shane surprised by coming all the way direct from Mexico for the recent opening night, complete with sombreros and Tequila.
“This has been a dream for a while, it has happened and hopefully I will get the support from the town for a little local business,” Deb said.
“If you’ve got a problem with work, you walk in that front door and leave that problem behind.”
The idea has been a long time coming.
“Brad came to me a few years ago and said why don’t you do something, I’m going to help you and now here we are,” she said.
“I can’t thank my bar staff enough, these guys have been my backbone.”
Deb said she knew Mount Isans enjoy relaxing and spending time with friends, and they were sure Arvo's will be the perfect venue for just that. Arvo’s Tapas bar is open Wednesdays, Thursday and Fridays 4pm till late and Saturday and Sunday midday to late.
