Mount Isa Police warn on home security after a series of burglaries

Police are reminding people to be vigilant with home security after many burglaries overnight on February 6.

At 3am offenders gained entry to the front security door of an Angela Bd unit by burning a hole through the fly screen and turning the lock. They knocked a table which alerted the owner.  

Offenders gained entry to an Emmalyn Cl property by damaging the rear flyscreen mesh and opening the main sliding glass door removing keys from the kitchen.  

Offenders gained entry to a Noakes Ave front door without forcing entry stealing an IPhone and wallet.  

At Simpson St offenders gained access by jemmying the rear door frame, and stole food and money.

At 1:30am a Simpson St property owner was woken up by a noise and noticed offenders attempting to break into the house by chiselling at the front door.   

At Emmalyn Ct offenders entered a house by possible unlocked rear door, and removed a handbag.

At Marian St at 3.30am Feb 7, the owner was woken by a noise and discovered an offender attempting to break into the unit via a window.
