The course is fully catered and commences at 8.30 on both days, finishing at 4.30pm.
The seminar covers the physiology, assessment and management of patients presenting with trauma.
JCU Associate Lecturer Catherine Jurd said it is really important to make the most of these opportunities so these course providers continue to come back to our region.
“The major focus in trauma that we see here is from car or station accidents or mining injuries,” Mr Jurd said.
This program is designed for emergency nurses and those in rural, remote or acute care facilities who may have to manager traumatic injuries.
Whilst the program is basic in its content and will not replace robust study, it serves as an outstanding introduction for the nurse new to emergency, trauma care and rural/remote nursing.
