Prairie local and batonbearer Katrina Sladden was delighted with the day.
“The community’s come out today to support everyone, the school kids and the locals in the Shire so it’s fantastic,” Ms Sladden said.
“Today marks a year since the Queen’s Baton Relay began and for it to be in Prairie is amazing.”
The GC2018 Queen’s Baton continued down the Flinders Hwy to Charters Towers to finish the day with a celebration to mark the QBR’s visit and Commonwealth Day.
