Police have charged three people following a serious armed robbery in Mount Isa on Tuesday.

Police say they are investigating into an alleged armed robbery which took place at a residence in Sunset in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
At 2am Tuesday a male, accompanied by three others, allegedly forced entry into the house through a gate into an address on Jacobsen Street.
It will be alleged by police that two male residents inside the house attempted to stop the man, however the intruder proceeded to attempt to stab the two residents multiple times.

It will be further alleged the man then kicked in the front door of the Jacobsen St house and assaulted a 32-year-old female resident with a knife.
The man allegedly stole multiple items from the address before leaving the premises.
A man and a woman sustained minor injuries in the assault.
A 25-year-old Cloncurry man has been charged with two counts of armed robbery and one count of enter dwelling with intent.
A 26-year-old Winston man has been charged with two counts of armed robbery and one count each of enter dwelling with intent and possess drug utensils.
A 48-year-old Pioneer woman has been charged with two counts of armed robbery and one count each of enter dwelling with intent and possess dangerous drugs.
The trio were all scheduled to appear before the Mount Isa Magistrates Court on April 11.
