Deadly Running aims to address chronic disease by increasing levels of physical activity, improve school attendance mental health and wellbeing.
A lot of the participants are currently running barefoot so the program is looking pre-worn shoes that people would like to donate.
The Mount Isa PCYC are collecting shoes of all sizes for deadly runners, with adults and children as young as four participating.

More than 200 residents have attended the Doomadgee running club since it launched in January.
Meanwhile eleven lucky Doomadgee children jetted to the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games last week to take part in the Gold Run.
The Gold Run is a 5km fun run held on a section of the course at the same time the marathon runners are going for gold at the games.
