Elizabeth Gildea and Charmaine Hartwig have lodged claims in the District Court at Townsville.
Council said the case pre-dates the current administration, commencing in 2015 as a Workers Compensation claim. “The matter has been managed at arm’s length from Council since that time,” council said.
“As legal proceedings are ongoing, it is not appropriate for Council to comment further.”
Ms Gildea is former council local laws officer Elizabeth Gildea who is claiming damages of $358,308.75.
The other claimant, Charmaine Hartwig, who remains a local laws officer, is claiming $135,512.12 damages.
Both accuse the council is accused of failing to provide a safe place of work and being vicariously liable for the alleged actions of former employee, Daniel Grimaldi.
