President of the Isa Highlanders Mary-Jane Caldwell said they were holding their lessons at the Anglican Hall for 22 years prior to this.
“Admittedly there was a lot of fixing and reburbishment to do at the new site but now it’s ready to go. The girls are all keen to practice before the North Queensland Championships in Cairns this weekend and they are looking forward to the St. Kieran’s fete and the Mount Isa Show.”
Deputy Mayor Phil Barwick said the purpose of the RADF scheme is to promote a strong inclusive community with a range of arts and cultural experiences.
“It’s great to see where the funding goes and the excitement it brings.The third round of funding opened on Monday April 16 and closes on Wednesday, June 20,” Cr Barwick said.
The Isa Highlanders new club is the white building on Wellington Road.
