The Isa Street Festival is the Mount Isa City Council’s contribution to Rodeo Week on 9–12 August which this year marks its Diamond Jubilee anniversary.
“The free concert and street party is going to be to be a fitting celebration of 60 years of Rodeo in the Isa,” said Cr McCulloch.
“We want the 2018 Mount Isa Mines Rotary Rodeo to have the X-Factor and having Isaiah perform live on stage will certainly achieve that element of excitement.”
Isaiah will perform an 80-minute set of his original hits and songs from his soon to be released debut album.
“Isaiah’s original songs have gone gold in Australia and charted in over 33 countries, racking up over 150 Million streams,” said Cr McCulloch.
“Like Jessica Mauboy who performed at the festival last year, Isaiah is an amazing talent for someone so young and we’re thrilled he’s agreed to bring his world class show to the Isa.”
In addition to his concert performance, Isiah fans will have the chance to meet, ask questions and draw inspiration from their idol at a special two-hour workshop.
The free outdoor event which will once again be held in the Mount Isa CBD, will also feature musical group Topology with special performances involving 10 Mount Isa School ensembles.
“We’re thrilled that local school students will have this incredible opportunity to perform on stage at the Street Festival showcasing their amazing talents with the support of Topology and the Bandana Jazz Band,” said Cr McCulloch.
“Topology are a Brisbane based group of composers, famous for their musical creativity and collaborations.
“They’ve been preparing and rehearsing with Mount Isa school students since August last year and together will perform two 40-minute sets of music specifically written for the occasion.”
In addition to a fantastic line up of live entertainment there will also be an array of food and market stalls, free children’s activities and a spectacular fireworks display.
Entertainment will continue with the Rodeo Rock live concert series featuring performances from The Viper Creek Band and Shannon Noll (10 August) and The McClymonts and Travis Collins (11 August).
The week of rodeo thrills and spills all leads up to the 60th Rodeo Rock Bash on 12 August starring Australian rock legend Jimmy Barnes, Tania Kernaghan, James Blundell and Brewn.
“It’s going to be a fantastic and unique Outback event, one not to be missed,” said Cr McCulloch.
