Melbourne’s Storey Players have a Cloncurry Council grant to spend a week at Dajarra to develop a performance “The Untold Story of Dajarra” with local schoolchildren in September. Simon Storey said they performed their show last year in Dajarra and conducted drama workshops with the kids and were so moved they decided to return and spend more time developing drama skills with them. “The ‘Untold Story’ comes from our Burke & Wills investigation and the John King story which hardly anyone had heard.”

“We will be working with the community to uncover some of these untold stories of Dajarra and then having the kids presenting them in a performance,” Mr Storey said.
The Storey Players took their Burke & Wills story The Ghost of John King along the route of the 1860 expedition last year.
