Some participators in the Saddle and Paddle Gregory Canoe Marathon arrived at Knobbies with just the hope to beat the river while others were in it for a leisurely paddle, still others were ready for a healthy bit of competition.
Carnage Leap took out one of the Canadian Canoe teams within the first few minutes in a spectacular dunking.
The team were able to turn the canoe over and keep heading to the first checkpoint.
The favourites on the day were Allan Cross and Steve Jenji.
