Police have charged a 37-year-old man with a number of offences as part of their investigations into a fatal traffic crash which occurred near Pormpuraaw on Saturday night.

Around 8:30pm, a car was travelling south along the Mungken River Access Road, approximately six kilometres from Pormpuraaw, when it rolled a number of times.
A 65-year-old Pormpuraaw man was declared deceased at the scene.
A 39-year-old man and a 32-year-old man, who were passengers in the vehicle, were flown to Cairns for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
A further two men were in the vehicle at the time of the incident, but had left the scene when police arrived.
One of the men returned a short time later, and advised police that he had been assaulted by the alleged driver of the vehicle.
Police conducted a number of inquiries, and subsequently located and arrested a 37-year-old man at an address in Pormpuraaw on Sunday morning.
A 37-year-old Aurukun man has been charged with one count each of dangerous operation of a vehicle causing death, unlawful use of motor vehicle, driving motor vehicle without a driver licence, assault occasioning bodily harm, and wilful damage of police property.
He was due to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court on Monday.
