Travis McElligott, Ashley King and Corey Jones have launched their own online television show.
The trio spend a lot of their time underground, mining for minerals tucked away under the feet of Mount Isa.
But on the weekend the three best mates jump in the car and traverse outback roads to some the most remote places that the far north has on offer.
The group have earned some celebrity status in the 4WD community, after they began to do some amateur filming of some of their weekend getaways on a GoPro.
“We were just filming these mad trips ourselves and putting it up on Youtube,” Mr McElligott said.
“Then about a year ago we thought we would have a proper crack at it and get some professionals along, so we took a film crew out with us to shoot what we got up to,” he said.
Mr Jones said the trio ventured out west to shoot the first few episodes.
“We went out to the Northern Territory border to film and it is pretty eventful,” Mr Jones said.
“We get bogged, do some helicopter fishing and sink a lot of beers.”
The banter flowed fast and funny when the three blokes dropped by the North West Star to talk about their new show.
Mr King said he thinks the series will appeal to a lot of Mount Isa locals, who will get a kick out of watching real Aussie blokes doing there thing on a fishing trip.
“Everyone likes to go out on camping and fishing trips so I recon a lot of people can relate to it up here,” Mr King said.
“We have a website set up now and our videos are getting a lot of views. Just the trailer for the show got 180,000 views,” he said.
The new video series titled Offroad Anglers, highlights the rugged untouched country of northern Australia.
It follows the journey of three mates chasing the best fishing and camping spots and meeting some characters along the way.
