Thanks to generous funding from RACQ Get Ready program, there will be free microchipping for your pets offered on-site or at a later date of your choice.
For the first time, Council will also offer vouchers for a $100 discount for animal desexing.
Mayor Joyce McCulloch said she was proud of Council’s commitment to encourage responsible pet ownership in Mount Isa and the safety of the city’s pets.
“We see microchipping and desexing as a critically important part of pet ownership, and we encourage owners to take advantage of this offer on Saturday,” Cr McCulloch said.
“Come along with your pet and have some fun, and let your four-legged friends enjoy their own special community event.”
There will be a doggy hair and fashion show, jumping castle and face painting for the kids, pet café, Paws Hoofs and Claws fundraiser and adoption animals, and plenty of prizes.
Pet Day will be held on the Civic Centre lawn on West Street from 8.30am to 11.30am on Saturday 9 June.
