WEAPONS LICENSING – Being in a rural location, Mount Isa Police Station client service counter sees a large volume of transactions each week. The majority relates to weapons licensing. Individuals and businesses can now apply online for a New Weapons Licence, licence renewal or permit to acquire. Changes of home or postal address or weapons storage addresses can also be updated online. https://www.police.qld.gov.au/programs/weaponsLicensing/applyOnline/ provides all the information required to start your online application.
NATIONAL POLICE CERTIFICATES – The National Police Certificate is based on a search of a person’s name against the criminal history records held by police services Australia-wide. This is most often sought for employment, study or overseas travel visa purposes. You can apply for a National Police Certificate either online or in person. Online applications include online payment, ID verification and delivery. Applications that do not require any further investigation can be completed within an hour.
ONLINE REPORTING – The Queensland Police Service and Policelink offer online forms to report non-urgent crimes or incidents. An alternative to phoning 131 444, it allows you to complete these forms in your own time. A Policelink officer will reply via e-mail with a police reference number or confirmation. https://www.police.qld.gov.au/online/On-Line-Reporting-and-Updates.htm details the many incidents and offences that can be reported, which include, but are not limited to: Lost Property Forms, Traffic Crash Forms, Hoon Reporting, Party Safe Registration, Event Safe Registration and Noise/Party Complaints.
If you wish to discuss a matter or reporting options with a service officer phone 131 444. But remember, if it is life threatening or a crime happening now, call 000.
